What is a Commercial Supply?
A commercial supply is a large production well, normally used for businesses with high water demands. E.g Golf Courses, Production Factories, Irrigation Farms.
Why are Commercial Supplies installed?
Commercial supplies are solely installed for the economic purposes. Some commercial wells are capable of producing up to 90m3 per hour. Accommodating this flow rate over a period of time would cost thousands, if not millions in paid water rates.
How does it work?
The first step towards obtaining a commercial supply is to contact a Consulting Engineer. They will design the well to accommodate your water demands and determine the depth of the hole. Obtaining a geological report is also recommended, and consulting engineer may insist on this first.
Upon receiving the specification we can then tender for the job. Upon acceptance we can then progress to drilling the well. With large commercial boreholes, the Consulting Engineer will liaise with the project manager from Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Ltd to ensure that the well is constructed properly.
Raeburn Drilling & Geotechnical Ltd install their wells in accordance with the S.E.P.A guidelines. We believe that it is imperative to construct the borehole correctly, especially if it is a drinking water supply.
